The Oct. 2003 yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) genome assembly is based on sequence dated 1 Oct. 2003 in the Saccharomyces Genome Database (SGD).
A genome position can be specified by the name of a gene or an ORF, the accession number of an mRNA or EST, a chromosomal range, or a keyword from a SGD gene description or GenBank mRNA description. The following list provides examples of valid position queries for the yeast genome. See the User's Guide for more information.

Genome Browser Response: |
|
chr3 | Displays all of chromosome 3
chr16:551,819-563,822 | Displays the indicated bases from chromosome 16
D38368 | Shows region where GenBank mRNA D38368 aligns
AA417514 | Displays region where EST AA417514 aligns
swi1 | Displays the genomic region encoding the SWI1 component of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex
YPL016W | Same as above. YPL016W is the ORF name for SWI1
meiosis | Lists genes and mRNAs that include "meiosis" in their description
Menees | Lists RNAs deposited by scientist named Menees
Roeder,G.S. | Lists mRNAs deposited by co-author G. S. Roeder
Use this last format for author queries. Although GenBank requires the search format Roeder GS, internally it uses the format Roeder,G.S.. |
